The 4G/5G frequencies this network uses within Japan are:
4G Band 1 – 2100MHz (primary frequency used in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka)
4G Band 3 – 1800MHz (additional primary frequency also widely used in urban areas)
4G Band 19 – 800MHz (can be important for coverage in more remote / rural areas)
4G Band 21 – 1500MHz (may offer improved coverage in some areas)
4G Band 28 – 700MHz (may offer improved coverage / building penetration in some areas)
5G Band N78 - 3600 to 3700MHz (primary 5G frequency used by Docomo in Japan)
5G Band N79 - 4500 to 4600MHz (additional primary 5G frequency used by Docomo in Japan)
5G Band N257 - 2800MHz (may offer improved coverage / data speeds in highly populated areas)
For the best possible coverage, we would recommend using a device that supports the primary frequencies mentioned above (i.e. 4G Band 1/3/19 and 5G Band 78 and 79) in addition to as many of the other frequencies shown above as possible.

The primary 4G frequency used by this network is:
4G Band 1 – 2100MHz
It’s vital that your device supports this frequency as this will provide network coverage in most major locations. We would therefore recommend using a device that supports this frequency at the very least.
However, this network also supports the following frequencies:
4G Band 3 – 1800MHz (additional primary frequency also widely used in urban areas)
4G Band 8 – 900MHz (could offer improved coverage indoors or in rural areas)
4G Band 41 – 2500MHz (could offer improved coverage / data speeds in highly populated areas)
4G Band 28 – 700MHz (may offer improved coverage in some areas)

The WiFi devices we offer support a range of frequencies and can connect to multiple networks in Japan.
These devices can connect to the Softbank network, the Docomo network, the AU network and the Rakuten network.
Please note that it will not be possible to select a specific network as these devices are configured to automatically connect to the best network that’s available at the time.
